THE BOLL WEEVIL
It don't look hardly fair,
To see the cotton stalk look so bare.
It's so tall, slim and boil less.
The little critter that caused it must be soulless.
The plant food has only made stalk and leaves,
And hardly enough blossoms for the bees.
The boll weavel thinks the job is done will.
As almost every square has fell.
Just a few grown bolls
The stalk now holds.
Just a few fine locks.
Not enough to make a pair of socks
They say they are a blessing in disguise,
To diminish the 25,000.000 bales supplus size.
